Repair & Warranty Policy

Clear expectations for assessments, repairs and devices sold by Metalite PC Technologies.

1. Diagnostics & quotes

We assess every device before starting paid repair work and explain the fault and estimated cost in plain language. Paid work only starts once you have approved the quote — on your tracking link, in person or by phone. If the quote changes, we ask for your approval again before continuing. Approving a quote is not a payment; you pay when you collect the device. Completion dates are estimates and can change when a diagnosis reveals more or a part is delayed.

2. Warranty on repairs

If the same repaired component or our workmanship fails within the period stated on your invoice, bring the device back for reassessment. We will redo qualifying repair work without another labour charge. A reassessment does not make us responsible for a different component, power surge, liquid or impact damage, software changes, misuse, or another fault that is not technically connected to the original repair.

3. Refurbished & pre-owned sales

New, refurbished and pre-owned products are described according to their condition, and known defects are disclosed before sale. Any extra Metalite warranty is the written cover shown on the listing or invoice; if none is shown for a pre-owned item, no extra shop warranty applies. Your statutory rights still apply to every sale, including second-hand goods (see section 7).

4. Data & backups

We recommend backing up your data before any repair. While we take care during diagnostics and repair, we cannot guarantee data will not be lost, and we are not liable for data loss. Data recovery may be attempted as a separate service but is not always successful.

5. Additional faults and approval

Diagnostics can reveal faults that were not visible during the first assessment. We will explain any additional work and obtain approval before charging for it. Declining additional work does not cancel charges already approved and completed.

6. Uncollected devices

Please collect repaired or quoted devices within a reasonable timeframe. Devices left uncollected for an extended period may be subject to storage arrangements discussed with you in advance.

7. Consumer rights and contact

Nothing in this policy limits or removes your rights under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act. Where the law gives you more protection than this policy, the law applies. Questions about a repair or sale should mention your repair reference, enquiry or invoice number and can be sent to metalitepc@gmail.com or 071 959 3073.
